This is a report on the second half of this year’s Pocklington School German exchange with Gymnasium Alfeld, a secondary school in Northern Germany.
The exchange has been running very successfully for 14 years, and our guests from Germany usually visit us in September, with us returning to Germany in February. Next year’s exchange is being planned already but this year was no different, and the following report is written by a first-time exchange student – some go more than once – called Sebastian Willis in Year 10.
On 20 February 19 pupils, including myself, embarked on an epic journey into the heart of Germany, a town called Alfeld. We travelled by bus to Stansted Airport where we caught flight 4U 3371 to Hannover. The flight was uneventful (barring the slightly hairy landing!) and we ended up safe in Hannover.
Read Sebastian’s full story in next week’s Pocklington Post (3 April).
