Youngsters saddled up to cycle or scooter to school as part of a fun and festive morning at Barmby Moor Primary.
All year groups at the school were invited to get involved in the Santa Cycle and Scooter Breakfast initiative, designed to encourage active travel to school during the winter.
Pupils were asked to come to school in a Christmas themed fancy dress, with their bike or scooter fully decorated in the theme of Christmas.
Jenny Marsden, a teacher at the school, said: “All costumes and decorated bikes or scooters were judged and two lucky children received a stack of prizes.”
Hot drinks and porridge with winter fruits were served to the children during the morning.
The event was hosted by Steve Wigley, from East Riding Council, who has been working at the school to promote cycling and scooting to school as healthy, fun and sustainable ways to travel.
The Santa Cycle and Scooter Breakfast scheme forms part of the Cycle Friendly School Award.
