East Riding of Yorkshire Council is hoping to have a fuller picture by tomorrow (Friday September 27) of the likely impact on local schools of next Tuesday’s planned national strike by the two main teaching unions.
The council has asked schools for information about whether they expect to have enough staff working to open either fully or partially next Tuesday.
The information which is supplied by the schools will be published on the council’s website, www.eastriding.gov.uk.
The authority is hoping that as many schools as possible will stay open. The strike has been called by the two main teaching unions in a national dispute over pensions, pay and conditions.
