A double celebration was held at North Cave Primary School last Friday.
The school held a fun fair to mark the retirement of the school’s headteacher Jan Woodford and to celebrate Year 6s leaving.
The fair, which was paid for by Friends of the school, featured a variety of rides and fun activities, including tea cups, a bouncy castle, hook-a-duck, face painting and a trampoline. It was attended by parents, North Cave Pre-School children and former pupils as well as current pupils and staff.
A surprise assembly took place last Thursday for Mrs Woodford, who has worked at the school for the past six years.
She said: “It’s the most inspirational place to work and has a fantastic team of people who care about every single child in school.
“It was the most incredible way to finish a career at school and also for Year 6 leavers.
“It was very different but very exciting.”
She added: “Thanks to Friends of the school for supporting the event.”
