AN initiative which encourages youngsters to keep fit proved a success at North Cave Primary School.

‘Fit Friday’, which was started by North Cave Primary a few years ago and has since been adopted by other East Riding schools, saw the majority of pupils walk or scoot to the school last Friday.

The children were greeted at the school by the Lollipop rabbit, who was there to highlight road safety, and young road safety officers Hannah Gamble and Eliza Vessy-Baitson, who were handing out stickers to their fellow pupils to promote the scheme.

Nancy Smart, from the school, said: “It aims to help children keep fit and stay healthy and stop traffic problems.

“The majority of children took part in it.”
