Popular Radio 4 programme ‘Any Questions?’ will be broadcasting live from Pocklington School tomorrow (7 March).
In what is a major coup for the West Green School, the show will broadcast from the Tom Stoppard Theatre from about 8pm.
Host Jonathan Dimbleby will present political debate and discussion with Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Caroline Flint MP, Conservative MP David Davis, and writer Bea Campbell.
Philip Donaldson, politics teacher at the school, who has been involved in the organisation of the event, said:
“It is a coup for the school in its 500th year.
“The whole school is very much looking forward to the event.” He added: “Anyone can write to the BBC and ask them to come. They were delighted to hold the event somewhere they have never been before.” All the tickets for the event have been snapped up, and there will be an audience of about 300 people.
The show will be repeated on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday at 1.10pm.
