Infant pupils at Stamford Bridge Primary were jumping for joy when they discovered they had a new multi-purpose climbing frame to play on.

The equipment, which cost £12,000, was funded with a £10,000 Awards for All grant from the Big Lottery Fund, £1,000 from the school and another £1,000 from the school’s parents association.

The climbing frame features a slide, ladders and climbing ropes. It has been installed in the early years garden at the school.

Headteacher Trudi Fitzhenry said: “It has been very popular. When it was being built the children didn’t know what it was going to be. When they realised it was a climbing frame they were delighted.”
