Youngsters at Pocklington Infant School have developed a greater understanding of their school as part of a national award scheme.
The pupils have been finding out about the jobs of everyone in the school and recognising the importance of the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in their education.
They have also learnt about how the school’s budget is used and have been setting themselves targets.
Their efforts have helped the school achieve an Investor in Pupils award, after it received a visit from an assessor at East Riding Council, which is associated with the award scheme, who was impressed by the pupils.
Headteacher Gill Campbell said: “I’m really proud of them. On the day they were really good ambassadors for the school, considering their age.”
