A Pocklington headteacher has had her last day in charge after teaching for almost 40 years.

Jayne Wilson has been headteacher of St Mary and St Joseph RC Primary School since April 2010 and has now decided to retire at the age of 60.

She was initially only employed as acting headteacher at the school for a term after moving over from St John of Beverley RC Primary School, where she was assistant headteacher.

Full story in next week’s (31 July) Pocklington Post.
