Farm fun for Lyndhurst kids

YOUNGSTERS were given a lesson in living off the land as they visited a farm as part of their latest topic.

The reception and year one children at Lyndhurst Pre-Prep headed for Honeysuckle Farm near Hornsea, where they helped feed the animals, rode a horse and cart, witnessed a milking demonstration and even tasted the Jersey milk in the fresh ice-cream.

Jo Denison, lead teacher of Pre-Prep, said: “This is what learning is all about; giving children experiences that astonish and challenge them.

“Several of the children were, at first, reluctant to feed the animals but in no time at all they were giggling and asking for more pellets.”
