CHILDREN went back in time to learn about the Second World War.
Year five pupils at Pocklington Community Junior School have been studying the war and, to end the topic, they took part in a number of activities.
On a fun-filled day, the boys made model aircrafts and the girls did sewing, which children would have done during the war. They then had a party to celebrate VE Day and listened to wartime music.
Sue Yeates, from the junior school, said: “It was like they went back in time.
“It was an end to a very successful topic on World War Two.”
Recently, the children met ten people from the East Riding who were evacuated to the area during World War Two. They told the pupils what it was like being an evacuee.
