World Book Day at Warter Primary School

Youngsters at schools across the area donned costumes of their favourite book characters for World Book Day.

As well as dressing up, children at Pocklington Infant School brought in a book and shared them with friends during an assembly. A number of other book-related activities were also held on the day. The pupils all received a £1 book token to spend at a bookshop.

Sarah Smith, literacy co-ordinator, said: “They loved it, they always do. They like getting dressed up. We want to thank parents for their help and support.”

At Warter Primary School and Lyndhurst Day Nursery in Pocklington, children dressed up and listened to stories.

They also received a £1 book token to spend at their favourite bookshop.
