YOUNGSTERS stepped back in time when they studied the Titanic at school recently.
Year 6 pupils at Mount Pleasant Junior School in Market Weighton were each given a character to research, finding information about their life and what happened to them on the ill-fated ship.
They dressed up in their character costumes and were involved in character role play as well as investigating morse code.
They also designed and made an electrical alarm to warn the captain of rising water and wrote postcards home describing the ship and their expectations.
Later in the day they experienced the type of foods on offer to the different classes and then prepared and cooked dishes from the Titanic’s restaurants.
The day finished with children tasting the different foods available and playing some of the games available to passengers on the ship.
