At the AGM of the group, members from Pocklington, Market Weighton, Driffield and Goole expressed concern that the Government’s Localism Act was not being adhered to by many East Riding Council officers.

It was agreed at the meeting that parish and town councillors are the level of local government most in touch with local people and know what they want and need, without, in most cases, any political bias, but their opinions and requests are being dismissed out of hand by unelected officers often claiming lack of funds.
