Florist Gill Hodgson, whose business, Fieldhouse Flowers is based in Everingham, Pocklington, has launched a nationwide campaign to promote locally-grown, English flowers over imported, mass-produced blooms.

Her networking group, Flowers from the Farm, supports growers across the country and Gill also hopes to inspire horticulturists and florists across the country to buy local.

Gill will be talking about how she hopes to challenge the import market and support locally-grown flowers at The Robert Fuller Gallery on Saturday June 15th. She will also be demonstrating how to arrange flowers and will talk about which flowers to grow for the best bouquets.

‘Grow your own cut flowers’ is at 7.30pm at The Robert Fuller Gallery, Fotherdale Farm, Thixendale, North Yorkshire, YO17 9LS. Tickets cost £10. Book online at www.robertefuller.com or call 01759 368355.
