Dunnington has become the first parish in the York area to be authorised to create a Neighbourhood Plan.
The parish council is now in the process of producing a plan by holding consultation with local landowners, residents, businesses, organisations and service providers.
The large task has been jointly created with City of York officials and the parish council’s first phase will run to the end of March, when it holds a Parish Annual Meeting.
Once agreed, the Neighbourhood Plan will provide the legal framework for planning decisions in the parish.
