Driver seriously injured

POLICE are seeking witnesses to a serious road traffic collision at the weekend which left a man needing hospital treatment.

The crash happened at South Cave on Beverley Road, close to the junction with Steep Hill, on Saturday evening at around 6.20pm.

A gold-coloured Citroen Xsara collided with a silver coloured Hyundai Coupe travelling in the opposite direction.

The 30-year-old Brough man in the Citroen suffered serious injuries to his chest and back and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment. His condition is stable and not believed to be life threatening.

The 43-year-old man driving the Hyundai was not hurt in the incident.

Humberside Fire and Rescue and the ambulance service also attended the scene.
