A popular doctor, who was the first female GP partner ever in Pocklington, has decided to hang up her stethoscope and take early retirement.

Dr Jane Brooke has been serving the people of Pocklington and surrounding villages since August 1987.

Pocklington Group Practice, based at The Beckside Centre on West Green, held a celebration event for GPs, staff and former colleagues to mark Dr Brooke’s retirement. They also presented Dr Brooke with a painting of The Wolds.

Berni Judge, practice and business manager, said: “We are very sad to be losing such a dedicated and caring GP and member of our team. Jane will be truly missed by practice staff and patients alike and we wish her all the very best for the future.”
