The demolition of old student accommodation blocks has started at the Defence School of Transport in Leconfield.

The jaded accommodation will be replaced by four new state-of-the-art accommodation blocks, which will house 768 military personnel attending one of the driver training courses at the base.

Steve Robshaw, project manager from Lend Lease, said “Construction works have been programmed to enable students to move into the new accommodation by Spring 2015”.

Colonel Rob Peacock, Commandant DST, said “I’m delighted to see and be a part of tangible progress towards making the lives of trainees at DST so much
better.

“DST and Lend Lease staff and contractors are working really well together to maintain the daily output during a complex project in the heart of the barracks.”
