Villager warns residents about scam emails

AN INTERNET user has warned residents across the region to be vigilant after his email account was hacked and a scam message was sent out to people he knows asking for money.

The man, from Holme-on-Spalding Moor, learned that someone had unscrupulously accessed his online account about a month ago when he logged in and found that all his emails and contacts had vanished.

An email, claiming to be from the man, was sent to contacts in his address book saying the sender was on holiday in Spain and had been robbed, with his documents, passport, credit cards and mobile phone all stolen.

It asked people to loan him money to pay for a flight back home.
