POLICE say they will continue to target a known area of Market Weighton which has become a hotspot for loitering youths.
The area known as the Monkey Run is off Aspen Close and near to the town’s football pitch. Sergeant Pete Rogers of Pocklington police said: “The area has been subject to regular checks by evening patrols during December and although incidents are at present sporadic, these will continue during January.
“Consideration will be given to use of £80 fixed penalty notices for disorder, alcohol seizure and joint work with our partners at East Riding of Yorkshire Council to secure Acceptable Behaviour Contracts where appropriate. We are currently processing an ASBO application in relation to one individual involved in incidents in this area.”
