Police launch investigation after car is stolen before being crashed into post

An investigation is underway after a car was stolen in South Cave, before being crashed into a post.

An unknown offender(s) approach a property on Annie Med Lane last Friday after 9.30pm and entered via an insecure door.

A set of car keys were taken from inside, which were then used to steal a silver Citroen C4.

Police then received a call at 6.18am the next morning from a member of the public reporting a crash on Bude Road, Hull.

The Citroen C4 had left the road before colliding with a post. The occupant of the car ran off following the collision.

The man seen running away following the crash is described as a white man, about 5ft 8ins tall and was wearing a dark jacket and jeans.

Officers investigating the theft of the car are appealing for any witnesses to the theft or the road traffic collision to contact them.
