The Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner has set out his final five-year plan for policing in Pocklington and beyond.
Matthew Grove recently released his Police and Crime Plan for the region.
Mr Grove’s plan aims to: reduce crime; protect the public and improve safety and improve the quality of services for victims.
The role of community engagement in policing the area is stressed in the report as is the need to police effectively while not wasting tax payers’ money.
In the report Mr Grove said: “My vision for policing and crime across the Humberside area is a simple one.
“It is to put the public and victims of crime at the centre of everything I do. With the Chief Constable of Humberside Police, I will build on the success of our neighbourhood policing teams as I believe these are the foundation upon which effective policing is delivered.”
In the report Mr Grove stressed the importance of tackling the causes of crime in balance with reacting to the crimes once they have been committed.
