Councillors rejoin parish council after resigning

Full Sutton and Skirpenbeck Parish Council is now seeking just one new councillor, after four people decided to rejoin the local authority.

The council was seeking six new members after five resigned, but four of those have returned to the council and two new people have joined. Coun Andy Strangeway has since resigned. A by-election to fill the remaining vacancy will be held if 10 electors write to the chief executive of East Riding Council at County Hall, Beverley, by 9 May claiming an election. Otherwise, the parish council can elect a new member from those who have expressed an interest.

Witnesses are being sought after a flat was burgled in Market Weighton.

The burglary took place above a shop on Holme Road between last Thursday and last Sunday while the occupants were away. Call Humberside Police 101 with information, quoting log 479 of 24/4/16.
