Two East Riding councillors say they remain keen to hear from residents of Allerthorpe who are fighting plans to turn part of a nearby golf course into a holiday home park.
Wolds Weighton ward councillors Andy Burton and David Rudd say they have already “taken on board” the points raised by the residents so far but will continue to listen to the argument from both sides.
Developer Turnwalk Limited, the owner of Allerthorpe Park Golf Course, which closed in January 2013, has teamed up with Park Leisure 2000 Limited for the project. They have submitted a planning application to East Riding Council to site up to 225 holiday lodges and static caravans on part of the course but this has caused an outcry among villagers in Allerthorpe who claim the additional traffic could ruin their tranquil village.
