RWE npower renewables is hosting the first public event for its proposed Cottam Airfield Wind Farm on Saturday 30 November 2013.
Studies at the site, located on the former airfield near Driffield, are currently at a very early stage.
However, the company is keen to begin consulting with the local community as soon as possible in order to keep them informed, gather feedback on plans to date and help inform future plans on the proposed development.
‘Cottam Airfield Wind Farm Drop In Day’ will provide an opportunity for local residents to meet the project team, learn more about RWE npower renewables, hear about the work completed at the site so far and provide feedback on initial plans for the proposed wind farm.
Approximately 10,500 leaflets are being distributed to local residents to provide information about the proposed scheme and advertise the Drop In Day, details of which are as follows:
Date: Saturday 30 November 2013
Location: Cass Hall, King Street, Driffield, YO25 6QW
Time: Drop in anytime between 10.30am and 4pm
Dee Nunn, RWE npower renewables’ developer for the proposed Cottam Airfield Wind Farm, said: “As a responsible developer, we are keen to build a positive relationship with the local community and to consult them throughout the development of our plans. We have already sought assistance from the parish councils and East Riding of Yorkshire Council on the best way to achieve this, and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage as many people as possible to attend the Drop In Day or to provide feedback through the consultation section of our website.”
“As well as information about the proposal, there will also be the opportunity to hear about the potential economic and community benefits associated with a wind farm such as Cottam Airfield.”
“This event is one of a number of ways in which we plan to engage with the community. We anticipate that we will hold a second public exhibition next year, where a scheme design will be on display together with an update on our studies at the site.”
