Pocklington Arts Centre’s community choir Forgotten Voices return to weekly rehearsals at the venue after a triumphant summer where they performed at the National Street Choir Festival in Whitby.

The group, who celebrated their fifth anniversary earlier this year, meet every Tuesday night in the venue’s studio. Community musician Sam Dunkley leads the choir. He said: “It was the first performance for the group outside of Pocklington in its five-year history and they were fantastic. Busking around the town was enjoyable for all of us, and was warmly received, but the response from the audience to our performance in the concert was something else. To wow a crowd of 1,000 or more singers was impressive.” There is no audition process or age limit to join the choir and the group are always looking for new members. Contact the Arts Centre box office for further information or turn up at 7pm next Tuesday to attend.
