Chip pan fire put out by neighbour

A chip pan caught fire at a property in South Cave.

The fire brigade were called to the property, on West Hall Garth, Pinfold, at about 8.11pm on Saturday (20 June). The fire was put out by a neighbour using a damp tea towel. Firefighters from Humbersdie Fire and Rescue Service carried out an inspection. There was moderate smoke damage to the kitchen and light smoke damage to remainder of property. Smoke detectors were activated.
