The owners of the The Jug and Bottle in Bubwith are preparing for the arrival of the Tour de Yorkshire on Friday 29 April.

Louise Smith has already been involved the children at Bubwith County Primary School. Louise supplied the school with 140 pieces of Calico bunting in the shape of cycling jerseys.

The children were invited to decorate these with their own design to celebrate the visit of the race.

The bunting is currently being sewn together so it can be hung outside the shop in readiness for the major international cycle event.

The Jug and Bottle will also be entering Welcome to Yorkshire’s “Lining the Route’ Land Art competition.

Louise, who runs the deli and off licence with husband Doug, said: “My staff, family and friends are all keeping everything crossed that with the whole race being televised this year and The Jug and Bottle’s land art entry will be shared across the world.”
