Former chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Councillor David Rudd, presented cheques to his chosen charities, having raised over £4,316 during his year in office.
The Market Weighton councillor chose to donate the money to the children’s charity, the NSPCC, and the Market Weighton Scout Hut building fund.
The ward member for Wolds Weighton placed on record his thanks to everyone who contributed to his charities and paid special tribute to some of his fellow councillors as well as everyone who helped him reach the figure.
He said: “Without the help of all these people it would not have been possible to raise this amount, which is going to two very worthy causes. I also wish to thank Sarah Asquith and Andy Thompson from the civic office for their organisation and guidance on all civic matters.”
