Care home residents step back in time

A buffet of wartime grub was enjoyed by residents at a Pocklington care home which held a 1940s-themed afternoon.

Residents at Sherbutt House, on Yapham Road, dressed up for the occasion and were joined by family and friends.

Among the food on offer at the buffet was spam sandwiches. The event also featured a cake competition, raffle and quiz.

Claire Danby, duty manager at the care home said: “The residents really enjoyed it, they had a whale of a time.

“Lots of family and friends came.. Most of us got dressed up.”
