A car that is a local icon in Pocklington was crashed into this morning (16 July) and the driver sped off without leaving any details.
The owner of the car, Louise Hugill, says that the crash occurred at around 6am this morning on George Street in Pocklington.
The hit and run driver was driving a black saloon car, she said, which she thought was a Volkswagen but is not sure what type.
Ms Hugill’s car is important to the people of Pocklington and, as a vintage car, the damage to the front means it is written off.
She is keen to identify the driver of the black car as soon as possible and is appealing for help from those in the area.
It was a black Volkswagen saloon driving along George Street towards Stamford Bridge just after 6am this morning, and then turning left down Barmby Road near the garage.
