As the term draws to a close, there’s more than sports day and leavers’ assembly to celebrate at a local school.

The Friends of Mount Pleasant Junior School have been raising funds to buy outdoor play equipment for the school, and successfully reached their target earlier in the year – having purchased a trim trail which has been installed and being enjoyed by the children.

Linden Homes East Yorkshire has donated £500 towards helping to boost funds for new school books and presented a cheque to the school to round-off the end of term.

A spokesperson for The Friends of Mount Pleasant Junior School said: “This £500 kindly donated by Linden Homes will be used to renew our well-worn books so we can enjoy a new selection.”

Julie Hubbard, sales manager, said: “As the school is neighbouring to our Bradley Meadow site we were delighted to make a contribution towards the fundraising appeal, particularly as some of our customers’ children will benefit.”
