Brave Pocklington mum finishes run despite dislocating knee

Brave...Emma Jones.
Brave...Emma Jones.

A remarkable story unfolded at the Great North Run when a determined Pocklington mum managed to hobble across the finish line, despite dislocating her left knee a third of the way through the race.

Emma Jones, 26, of Clarkes Lane, was among 55,000 people who entered the 13.1 mile half marathon on Sunday 15 September.

But at the four mile mark, Emma’s hopes of completing the run were almost dashed when her knee gave way and popped out of place.
