Christmas will come early for a little boy when he flies to America in a search of a cure for his life-limiting medical condition.
Three-year-old Joshua has a rare condition called congenital myotonic dystrophy, which causes stiffening of the limbs.
His legal guardian Sarah Ruane has managed to save up enough funds to pay for her and Joshua to travel to America on Sunday to take part in a research programme for a new drug at Utah University. They will be accompanied by Sarah’s friend Christine Mason.
