Popular Pocklington attraction Burnby Hall Gardens has won the prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom Gold Award for the fifth consecutive year.
The award was presented during a ceremony at York Racecourse last Tuesday, and acknowledges the hard work and dedication of staff at the Gardens.
The Gardens were entered in the competition’s Country Houses, Estates, Parks and Gardens category.
Peter Rogers, assistant estate manager at the Gardens, said: “We’re so pleased and proud to have won this award again this year.
“Our estate manager Ian Murphy and the gardening staff do so much to make the Burnby Hall Gardens so special. To have won this award five years in succession reflects the dedication they show to keeping everything to such a high standard.
“The tulip festival in the spring, the themed gardens and woodland, and the beautiful water lilies on display during the summer months make this a really lovely place for our visitors.”
The Gardens, which have celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of the Stewart Trust this year, are also shortlisted for the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards for the Best Small Visitor Attraction. The winner will be announced on 17 November.
