Attraction appeals for photos of gardens

Burnby Hall Gardens

Pocklington’s Burnby Hall Gardens is currently researching the history of its gardens as part of its Heritage Lottery Fund application to renovate and secure Major Percy Stewart’s legacy to the town for future generations.

As part of this work, the attraction is particularly interested in photographs of the gardens from times past, specifically during Major Stewart’s residence at the Hall between 1901 and 1962. He often gave items such as photographs away, and the attraction wants to hear from anyone who may have pictures of the gardens from this period who might be willing to allow the Gardens to copy them for the Stewart Museum archives. Call Peter Rogers on 01759 307541 if you can help with this research project.
