Arts group extends membership

Young people aged between 16 and 18 can now become members of the Friends of Pocklington Arts Centre.

It means they can get a Friend concession on top of their student concession for films and some live events.

The change was agreed at the Friends’ recent annual general meeting AGM.

Liz Buckles was re-elected as Chair. She was instrumental in starting up the popular Sunday Studio Nights and continues to oversee and encourage this event. Liz gave the meeting a powerpoint presentation showing some of the talented young performers and also some of the other Friends events and coffee mornings.

Janet Farmer, the Arts Centre Manager, thanked members for their contribution in helping to staff the venue and for their generous financial contribution towards digital cinema.

Those at the AGM were welcomed with a glass of wine and following the meeting enjoyed a free screening of ‘The Great Gatsby’.
