Art groups given chance to win grant

Art-based groups and individuals in the Pocklington area are being encouraged to apply for a grant of up to £15,000.

St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts is inviting applications for annual awards of £1,000 to £15,000 to support artistic projects.

The next deadline for first stage applications for the Arts Awards will be Sunday 28 February.

The foundation is looking for bold, ambitious proposals for artist-led activity in all disciplines, from artists at all stages of their practice.

Projects might consist of:

l The creation of a new artwork or series of artworks

l The bringing together or sharing of art (through exhibitions, performances and/or festivals for example)

l Opportunities for reflection on artistic practice

l Development of knowledge and/or skills necessary to further or change artistic practice in some way.

The St Hugh’s Foundation for the Arts is a registered charity supporting artists in the City of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
