Plans are afoot to install a new litter bin on Pocklington’s West Green, but an East Riding councillor says residents and the town council would need to finance the bin.

After a request from residents, new Pocklington Provincial ward councillor Andy Strangeway contacted East Riding Council about a new bin for West Green, at the junction of West Green Drive. The cost of purchasing and installing a new litter bin is £431.60.

Coun Strangeway said: “It would be adopted onto the East Riding Council litter bin collection rounds and maintained. But East Riding Council would not be able to finance the litter bin.

“To finance the bin, I am inviting donations from local residents and Pocklington Town Council.”

If you are able to make a donation, however large or small, call Coun Strangeway on 07826 439101 or email him at info@island-man.co.uk.
