Everyone can picture the railway. Trains flying from here there and everywhere. Railways have always attracted interest from young boys and their fathers. Toy makers in England, Germany and France soon stated to produce model trains to meet this interest.

Mid-Victorian toys makers produced a lot of ‘penny’ trains and later ‘carpet toy’ models in wood and tinplate.
