Pocklington WI members are seen enjoying a celebration meal at Langlands Garden Centre on Wednesday 16 September – the very day that the WI organisation started in the UK back in 1915.
They were joined by six other local WIs who thoroughly enjoyed hearing the after dinner speaker, Mr Peter Slack.
Mr Slack is a dairy and sheep farmer from the Peak District and he recounted many numerous stories of walkers who ‘were not lost, but just didn’t know where they were’.
The beautifully decorated Centenary cake was cut by Mrs Peggy Pick of Fangfoss and Bolton WI.
The Pocklington WI meets on the second Wednesday of every month at the The Masonic Hall, The Mile, Pocklington, starting at 7.15pm.
If you would like to join the group or would like further information please call the President of Pocklington WI on 01759 302658.
