Air your views at council meeting

RESIDENTS of Pocklington are being reminded that the annual general meeting of the town council will be held next week at the Arts Centre.

Usually, only councillors are permitted to speak at regular meetings but, twice a year, people are given the chance to air their views about local issues and raise questions for the council at bi-annual meetings.

The next is to be held in The Studio area of the Arts Centre on Wednesday, 25 May at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, the mayor-making ceremony is planned for Friday evening at Pocklington School, when Councillor Martin Cooper will be handing over his chains of office.

Councillor Graham Perry is expected to be unveiled as the new mayor, with Councillor Tony Marron appointed as his deputy.
