A CAMPAIGN group is keeping up the pressure against housing and health centre plans in Market Weighton.
The Action Against Access group has erected a large banner at the end of Northgate Vale to make clear their opposition to the 49-home and health centre development which plans to use the quiet cul-de-sac as a main access point.
Godfrey Bloom, the UKIP Euro-MP for Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, has got behind the group’s cause and Matt Rice of Action Against Access says they have also written to East Yorkshire MP Greg Knight asking for his support.
Mr Rice said that many residents of the Northgate Vale area and surrounding streets were concerned about the increased volume of traffic that the development would bring.
The group plan to hold another open public meeting about the issue in Market Weighton next month and will invite representatives of the Market Weighton Surgery and Lovel Developments.
