TMWS said a fond farewell to Mr Cliff Smith who has retired after 16 years as deputy headteacher at TMWS.

Headteacher Mr Harrison said: “After such a long and loyal service to the school Mr Smith will be missed by many students and staff, past and present. He has been instrumental in ensuring improvements in teaching and learning over recent years and has ensured we have the best possible procedures in place to safeguard our students. We all wish Mr Smith a very enjoyable retirement.”

Mr Smith’s final day at the school coincided with Sport Relief and students paid to throw water bombs at him!

He also relived his renowned ‘Harlem Shake’ assembly and our Year 11 students presented him with gifts including a signed photo.

Mr Smith said: “I have enjoyed my time at TMWS enormously and have great affection for the school, the town and the surrounding communities that it serves.”
