SCHOOLS across the county are gearing up for a day of dance with this year's Lifestyle Rock Challenge.
The police-run event is to get the message across about the dangers of using drugs, and will do so with live stage performances.

More than 40 schools have been busy rehearsing since September in preparation for the performing arts competition.

Each school troop will perform an eight-minute themed piece on stage, with students and teachers coming together to work on a stage set, costumes and lighting design.

Last year Pocklington’s Woldgate gave an impressive performance and won through to the regional finals. For details, contact the Humberside Police Life-style team on (01482) 578110.
