AN award of £4,000 is making a splash at Warter CE Primary School.
The award, part of the RBS Supergrounds programme, will mean the school can makeover their playground and Millennium Garden.

The school team plan to also add outdoor learning facilities for science, design technology and music.

The school was nominated for the award by Jon Crompton, a parent at the school, who works for The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

Mr Crompton said: “As a parent I know how difficult it is for schools to raise funds and this scheme is an ideal way for us to improve the school grounds to help the children develop.

“It’s great that The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, through RBS Supergrounds, agreed to give its support to the school because of my involvement.

“Not only has this project enabled schools to use their grounds as a tool for learning, but it has also had a very positive effect on our communities, teachers and children.”

Ann Wilson, headteacher, said: “We are really excited about the playground becoming a creative learning environment for our children.”

RBS Supergrounds is led by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group and is managed by the national school grounds charity Learning through Landscapes with local support from environmental charity Groundwork.
