A GRANDMOTHER and granddaughter team from Hayton are taking part in this year's Race For Life challenge.
Mary Drewery and her 12-year-old granddaughter Natalie Drewery will run the five-kilometre course at Hull Costello in a month's time.

Race For Life events are held at various locations across the country and raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Mrs Drewery said they would now start properly training for the race on 1 June. She said: "We're looking forward to it and we've got a good support team and people sponsoring us.

"Really we're doing it for all the people we know that have succumbed to cancer – a lot of people, I'm afraid."

Anyone wanting to sponsor the duo can contact them on (01759) 302198.

Are you taking part in this year's Race For Life? Let the Post know and contact Hannah on (01759) 301003 or email hannah at: hannah.kirk@yrnltd.co.uk
