POCKLINGTON Ramblers' most elderly member, who will be 89 later this year, still regularly takes part in the group's walk programme.
Rose Alton has always enjoyed walking and sees age as no barrier when it comes to taking part in the rambles.

Mrs Alton, from Pocklington, joined the Ramblers' Association when the town's group was first set up and takes part in the short walks and some of the group's social functions. She also attends most of the group's AGMs.

Mrs Alton, inset, said "I keep fit by doing some walking every day and I like to do a walk of around six-and-a-half miles at the weekend.
"I feel very fortunate to be able still to participate in walks and thoroughly enjoy it."

The Pocklington Group of the Ramblers' Association runs a variety of walks and the group has 247 members.
