MUSIC and poetry is being offered for an evening in Pocklington to help raise money for charity.
Entitled Floramusica, a 35-voice choir will be singing at the concert at Methodist Church on Chapmangate.

The theme is music through the seasons and it is directed by soprano Yvonne Robert with accompaniment by Nicholas Page.

Broadcaster and political journalist Geoff Druett will also be reading poetry. The event will raise money for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Local fundraiser Michael Shepherd said: “It was Yvonne Robert’s idea, they had been performing in York for charity and it was very successful evening.

“I got the message that they wanted to come to Pocklington to raise money for PSP. They are very good and it will be a wonderful and delightful evening. The whole evening’s taking will go towards PSP.”

Held on Saturday, 21 November at 7.30pm, tickets are £6 and include light refreshments. There will also be a tombola, cake stall and gifts.

The tickets are available by phoning (01759) 306741 or from Chylde’s Play on Railway Street.
